Higher Education & Ministry

The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) is called to embrace the ministry of learning and leadership formation in The United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan tradition; serving Christian leaders around the world who are defined, formed and shaped by a process of intellectual engagement, spiritual and character formation, and leadership development.

Every elder, deacon and licensed local pastor benefits from our training and candidacy programs. Many young adults find help in clarifying their vocation and God’s call in their lives through leadership and discernment programs. Additionally, GBHEM supports a global network of more than 1,000 Methodist-related schools, colleges and universities.
